VMware NSX Engineer
Madison, WI (Day 1 Onsite)
Job Description:
The VMware NSX Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting VMware NSX network virtualization and micro-segmentation solutions within enterprise data center and cloud environments. This role focuses on network security, software-defined networking (SDN), troubleshooting, and optimizing virtual network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware NSX environments.
Design and implement micro-segmentation and distributed firewall policies.
Manage logical switching, routing, load balancing, and VPN services.
Troubleshoot NSX networking, security, and connectivity issues.
Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to implement secure network solutions.
Monitor environment health and perform upgrades, patches, and system maintenance.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
Required Skills:
Hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T and VMware vSphere.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, and firewalls.
Experience with micro-segmentation, distributed firewalls, and network virtualization.
Knowledge of VMware vCenter, ESXi, and software-defined networking concepts.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
VMware Certified Professional (VCP-NV) or related certifications.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerCLI, Python, or Ansible.
